If your games are similar in size, then they are not rips.That's not true. All the rips I ever made were same or almost same size as full isos. The only thing different was that they were filled with empty data so they could be compressed to almost nothing. Obviously they didn't have any music or videos. Doing this helps in certain games where they seek for something at a specific sector.

Moving the music/movie to another sector would likely make the game crash or the PSX would have difficulty to read the whole CD since nothing he wants is where it's supposed to be.
